A Bird Covered In A Coat Of Stunning Burgundies And Reds, Accessorized With A Shining Silver Beak – Meet The Crimson-backed Tanager!

In the bird realm, it seems just when you think you have seen the most beautiful bird, another one comes along to immediately replace it.

Finding one favorite bird is an almost impossible task when you write about them on an almost daily basis. That being the case, here’s yet another stunning bird to join my long list of favorites.

This bird is a member of the very attractive tanager family. A family bird where each member has its own distinctive beauty. However, this one stands out more with its own stunning blend of color.

This is the crimson-backed tanager, Ramphocelus dimidiatus, covered in a suit of reds and burgundy feathers, accessorized with a shining white beak

These tanagers are native to South, and Central America, most commonly to Panama, Colombia, and Venezuela.

A small community of these birds is also found on the islands of French Polynesia. They prefer living in flocks in lowland forests

The eggs of these birds are blue in color, and covered with black dots. The amount of eggs laid per season is not yet estimated. And, as yet, they haven’t faced any threat of extinction.

These stunning creations of nature are really incredible. But, unfortunately, most humans seem not to realize the value of conservation.

The masked crimson tanager (Ramphocelus nigrogularis), is arguably just as beautiful, by the way.

It can be found in subtropical or tropical swamps and subtropical or tropical moist shrubland in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.
