The diademed tanager

The diademed tanager (Stephanophorus diadematus), is a species of Neotropical bird in the tanager Thraupidae family. Measuring about 7 inches in length, the male of this species is distinguished by deep blue plumage, darker at the wings and tail, with a lighter blue shoulder patch.

The Taiwan yellow tit (Machlolophus holsti) is a species of bird in the family Paridae. This bird was formerly one of the many species in the genus Parus but was moved to Machlolophus after a molecular phylogenetic analysis published in 2013 showed that the members of the new genus formed a distinct clade.

The painted bunting (Passerina ciris), is a species of bird in the cardinal family, Cardinalidae.

This bird is a variety of diamond firetail 

This bird is a variety of diamond firetail (Stagonopleura guttata), that only the most experienced breeders can reliably produce by selecting parents carrying the recessive genes which give rise to this almost pearl white plumage.

The Common Starling or European Starling (sturnus vulgaris), is also simply called the starling in the United Kingdom and New Zealand, where it is an introduced species. It is a medium-sized passerine bird in the Sturnidae family.

The long-tailed broadbill

The long-tailed broadbill (Psarisomus dalhousiae), is a species of bird that is found in the Himalayas. Adult members of this species have a bright yellow throat and face, with another yellow patch behind each eye.

The white-winged fairywren

The white-winged fairywren (Malurus leucopterus) is a species of passerine bird that looks most striking when seeing an adult male. His breeding plumage is either a brilliant dark blue or glossy black with white shoulder patches, finished off with a mid to dark blue tail.

The chestnut-backed tanager (Stilpnia preciosa), is a species of bird in the Thraupidae family. The male of this species has a shimmering rufous crown fading to a more coppery tone along his back.

The southern yellow-billed hornbill (Tockus leucomelas) has a long yellow decurved beak, males have a casque above. They have bare red skin around and below the eyes, as well as at the base of the bill.

The red-crested cotinga (Ampelion rubrocristatus) is a species of bird in the family Cotingidae found in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela.

The black-browed babbler 

The black-browed babbler (Malacocincla perspicillata) is a songbird species in the family Pellorneidae. The species is endemic to Borneo. Only a single specimen, collected in the nineteenth century was known until the bird was rediscovered in Borneo in 2020.

The ultramarine flycatcher or the white-browed blue flycatcher (Ficedula superciliaris) is a small arboreal Old World flycatcher in the ficedula family that breeds in the foothills of the Himalayas and winters in southern India.

The common iora (Aegithina tiphia) is a small passerine bird with dark green to black upper parts when the male is trying to look his best in the breeding season.

The golden palm weaver (Ploceus bojeri) has black eye’s which is in striking contrast to the orange (male) or yellow (female) head. The adult male has uniform orange on the head, shading to a chestnut patch on the lower throat – looking somewhat similar to the male Eastern Golden Weaver the orange face pales onto the ear-coverts and sides of the neck. 

The black paradise flycatcher

The black paradise flycatcher (Terpsiphone atrocaudata), is a medium-sized passerine bird native to southeastern Asia. It is a glossy black, chestnut and white bird, slightly smaller than either the Amur paradise flycatcher or Blyth’s paradise flycatcher, but similar in appearance. Males have exceptionally long tails. Females are generally duller in appearance and have shorter tails.

The white-whiskered laughingthrush or Formosan laughing thrush (Trochalopteron morrisonianum) is a species of bird in the family Leiothrichidae. It is endemic to montane forests of the island of Taiwan.

Pink-headed Warblers (Cardellina versicolor) are only found in the highlands of Guatemala and across the border in the Mexican state of Chiapas. Unfortunately, they are considered vulnerable to extinction by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) due to ongoing habitat loss.

The yellow-crowned bishop (Euplectes afer), is a species of passerine bird in the Ploceidae family native to Africa south of the Sahara. 3.7 in length this bird is sexually dimorphic with observable characteristics of males becoming more apparent. During the breeding season, the male has distinctive golden yellow and black plumage.

The green-headed tanager (Tangara seledon) is a small colorful bird that mainly visits the humid Atlantic forest. And contrary to what you might think, its flashy plumage is great camouflage amongst the local vegetation. The adult male shows bright complex plumage.

The cream-colored woodpecker (Celeus flavus) is unmistakably recognizable by its pale but distinct yellow plumage and beak, long erect crest, dark brown wings and black tail.

The scaly-breasted munia or spotted munia (Lonchura punctulata), is a species of bird in the genus Lonchura. Only about 4,3 to 4.7 inches in length, this species of bird has a stubby bill typical of grain-eating birds, with brown upperparts and a dark brown head. The chest and belly are white with dark scale-like markings.

The whiskered treeswift

The whiskered treeswift (Hemiprocne comata) is a species of bird in the family Hemiprocnidae. It is the smallest of 4 species in genus Hemiprocne and is found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

The Indian golden oriole (Oriolus kundoo) is a species of oriole similar to the Eurasian golden oriole but has more yellow on the tale. A large bird, with a strong bill, long wings, and quite a long tail. The male has bright yellow plumage over most of his body with black wings and a black tail.

The rufous paradise flycatcher (Terpsiphone cinnamomea) is a species of bird in the family Monarchidae. It is found in Indonesia and the Philippines. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.

The fire-tufted barbet (Psilopogon pyrolophus) is a species of bird in the Asian barbet family Megalaimidae. A moderately large bird (28 cm), the adult birds are overall green in appearance and have a brownish-maroon nape, grey lores, white band on the forehead, throat green, followed by a bright yellow band before a black band, appearing like a necklace separates the belly.

The Oriental dwarf kingfisher

The Oriental dwarf kingfisher (Ceyx erithaca), is the most brightly colored as well as the smallest of all the species of kingfisher, measuring in at only between 5 – 5.5 inches (13 – 14 cm) in length – including bill and tail.

The red-eared firetail (Stagonopleura oculata), also known as the boorin, is a small finch-like species of bird is a small grass-finch with black-barred and white-spotted plumage, distinguished by its scarlet bill, black mask, and bright crimson red patch behind the eye and at the rump.

The white-bellied go-away-bird

The white-bellied go-away-bird (Crinifer leucogaster) has a long pointed grey and black tail with a white median band characteristic of the species. It has a white patch under both wings which is only visible during flight.
