The video in question was shot by Vanderlei Benites Scalabrim, brazil, showing the almost invisible bird standing perfectly still with her beak straight up in the air.

Footage then shows the bird suddenly fly off, leaving behind an egg.

Later the video shows the egg has hatched and has been replaced by a young fledgling.

The fledgling stands on the same wooden post, standing perfectly still blending in with the post.

A message on the screen says, “The chick is already big’ as the young potoo has grown so much since the last clip.”

The common potoo is a nocturnal species that live in the Southern Hemisphere and uses camouflage to hide from its predators.

It has eyes that take up much of its skull, giving it excellent night vision, while slits in the eyelids help it to sense the movement of predators even while asleep.
