The fire-tailed myzornis (Myzornis pyrrhoura) is a bird species. Its genus Myzornis is monotypic, and has recently been placed in the family Paradoxornithidae.

The black bee-eater

The black bee-eater (Merops gularis) is a bird that grows to around 20 cm (20 inches) in length. He is a predominantly black bird, with a scarlet chin and throat, wearing a heavily streaked breast and belly that is flecked in turquoise/blue.

The long-eared owl (Asio otus), is also known as the northern long-eared owl or, more informally, as the lesser horned owl or cat owl.

The superb fruit dove (Ptilinopus superbus), also known as the purple-crowned fruit dove (leading to easy confusion with the purple-capped fruit dove), is a medium-sized, colorful fruit dove in the Columbidae family.

The purple-crowned fairywren

The purple-crowned fairywren (Malurus coronatus) is a species of bird in the Australasian Maluridae wren family. The male of this species is easily distinguished by his purple crown with a black eye line and collar during the breeding season.

The Eurasian blue tit

The Eurasian blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) is a small passerine bird with a bright blue cap and back, with a white face and dark lines across its eyes. It also has a yellow belly and a short somewhat stubby beak.

The masked gnatcatcher

The masked gnatcatcher (Polioptila dumicola) is a small, though highly active, South American songbird. However, it is the largest species of its genus Polioptila.

The red-backed fairywren (Malurus melanocephalus), is a species of passerine bird in the Maluridae family of Australasian wrens. The male of the species is most striking in the breeding season, with black upperparts and tail, and a brightly colored red back and brown wings.

The European bee-eater (Merops apiaster) is a near passerine bird in the bee-eater family, Meropidae. It breeds in southern and central Europe, northern and southern Africa, and western Asia.

The long-tailed silky-flycatcher

The long-tailed silky-flycatcher (Ptiliogonys caudatus) is 24 cm long with a pale grey forehead. It is a thrush-sized species weighing in at around 37 grams. The rest of the crested head, neck, throat, and lower belly are yellow.

The collared aracari or collared araçari (Pteroglossus torquatus), is a species of toucan, a near-passerine bird. A brightly colored toucan with a large bill both males and females look very much alike.

The Indian roller

The Indian roller (Coracias benghalensis) is a bird of the family Coraciidae. It is 30–34 cm (12–13 in) long with a wingspan of 65–74 cm (26–29 in) and weighs 166–176 g (5.9–6.2 oz). The face and throat are pinkish, and the head and back are brown, with blue on the rump and contrasting light and dark blue on the wings and tail. 

The mountain bluebird

The mountain bluebird is definitely one of those birds that fit these criteria, managing to look stunning in his sky blue suit, whilst at the same time looking extremely adorable.

The common waxbill

The common waxbill (Estrilda astrild), also known as the St Helena waxbill, is a small passerine bird belonging to the estrildid finch family. 4 to 5 inches in length, this slender bird has gray upperparts, with finely, conspicuously barred grey-brown.

The flame-throated warbler

The flame-throated warbler (Oreothlypis gutturalis) is around 12 cm long and weighs in at 10 grams. The upper parts of this bird are grey, black on the back, lores, and lower ear coverts. 

The Antillean euphonia

The Antillean euphonia (Chlorophonia musica) is a bird species in the finch family, Fringillidae (formerly in Thraupidae). It is found in all the main islands of the Lesser Antilles, as well as Hispaniola (Dominican Republic and Haiti) and Puerto Rico.

The frilled coquette (Lophornis magnificus) is a hummingbird species in the “brilliants”, tribe Lesbiini of the subfamily Lesbiinae. It is endemic to Brazil.

The gorgeous bushshrike

The gorgeous bushshrike (Telophorus viridis), is a species of bird in the Malaconotidae family. A beautiful bird, to say the least, they have an olive back, and red throat, with a black chest band.

The velvet-fronted nuthatch

The velvet-fronted nuthatch (Sitta frontalis) is a small passerine bird in the nuthatch family Sittidae found in southern Asia.

The double-barred finch

The double-barred finch (Stizoptera bichenovii) has mainly brown upper parts right from the crown to the back, with weak blackish barring. Underparts, meanwhile, are mainly white, as is the throat which is boarded with a double narrow black band.

The red-browed finch (Neochmia temporalis) is an estrildid finch that inhabits the east coast of Australia.

The marvelous spatuletail

The marvelous spatuletail (Loddigesia mirabilis), is a medium-sized bird hummingbird, and the only member of the genus Loddigesia. Their bodies are really quite small, and are sometimes described as “about the size of a slightly fluffy ping-pong ball.”

The Indian golden oriole (Oriolus kundoo) is a species of oriole similar to the Eurasian golden oriole but has more yellow on the tale. A large bird, with a strong bill, long wings, and quite a long tail.

The yellow-faced myna

The yellow-faced myna (Mino dumontii), is a species of starling in the Sturnidae family. Growing to a length of between 9 and 10 inches, this bird is the largest species of starling. The head has short black feathers that have a glossy purplish-blue hue on the forehead and upper mandible.

The American goldfinch

The American goldfinch (Spinus tristis), is a small North American bird in the finch family. A small bird, only about 4.3-5.5 inches long, this bird is the only finch in the cardueline genus to molt twice a year.  

The New Zealand kaka

The New Zealand kaka (Māori: kākā) (Nestor meridionalis), is a large species of parrot in the Nestoridae family. The Kaka is a medium-sized parrot that retains many primitive features lost in many other parrots when it split off from them about 100 million years ago.

The fire-breasted flowerpecker

The fire-breasted flowerpecker (Dicaeum ignipectus), is a species of bird in the Dicaeidae family. One of the smallest members of the flowerpecker family is a small bird with a dark bill. The male has glossy blue-black upper parts, while his belly is a yellowish color with a short black stripe running down from his chest.  

The black-faced honeydew

The black-faced honeydew or dacnis carinegra ( Dacnis lineata ), is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. Males of this species are distinctive and attractive, to say the least. Mostly blue underneath, with a white belly, with one sub-species having a yellow belly instead of white.

The pink-browed rosefinch

The pink-browed rosefinch (Carpodacus rodochroa), is a finch in the family Fringillidae. The male is a bright raspberry pink with a deep pink belly and maroon crown, along with a “browed” facial pattern and faint streaking on the back.

The orange-breasted fruiteater

The orange-breasted fruiteater (Pipreola jucunda), is a species of bird in the Cotingidae family. The male of this species has a glossy black head and green upperparts.
