The crested barbet (Trachyphonus vaillantii)

The crested barbet (Trachyphonus vaillantii), (‘trachys’=rough, ‘phone’=voice, sound’) is a sub-Saharan bird in the family Lybiidae. A highly colorful bird, Crested barbets have yellow heads with fine red scaling. The chin is yellow too, the face mostly red. The upperparts, including the back and wings, are black with white specks and crescents. 

The Indian roller (Coracias benghalensis)

The Indian roller (Coracias benghalensis) is a bird of the family Coraciidae. It is 30–34 cm (12–13 in) long with a wingspan of 65–74 cm (26–29 in) and weighs 166–176 g (5.9–6.2 oz). The face and throat are pinkish, the head and back are brown, with blue on the rump and contrasting light and dark blue on the wings and tail. The bright blue markings on the wing are prominent in flight.

The sexes are similar in appearance.

Anna’s hummingbird (Calypte anna), is a medium-sized bird species in the Trochilidae family. No bigger than a ping pong ball Anna’s hummingbird with an iridescent bronze-green back with a pale grey chest and belly.

The Regent bowerbird (Sericulus chrysocephalus), is a medium-sized, up to 25 cm long, sexually dimorphic bowerbird. The male bird is black with a golden orange-yellow crown, mantle, and black-tipped wing feathers. He has a yellow bill, black feet, and yellow eyes.

The northern carmine bee-eater (Merops nubicus or M. n. nubicus)

The northern carmine bee-eater (Merops nubicus or M. n. nubicus), is an African near passerine bird in the Meropidae family of bee-eaters. Characterized by their strikingly colorful plumage this bird is mainly carmine in color, except for a green-blue head, throat, and distinctive black mask.

The golden tanager (Tangara arthus)

The golden tanager (Tangara arthus) is a species of bird in the Thraupidae family. The back of the Golden Tanager is lined with black and gold streaks. The rest of his body is a blaze of gold with black ear patches on each side of his head, as well as a splash of chestnut on the throat and upper breast area.

The black-and-white warbler (Mniotilta varia)

The black-and-white warbler (Mniotilta varia), is a species of New World warbler, and the only member of its Mniotilta genus. These birds, measuring 13 cm in length, are boldly striped in almost parallel lines of black and white. Their black wings are highlighted by two wide, white wing bars.

The pink-browed rosefinch (Carpodacus rodochroa)

The pink-browed rosefinch (Carpodacus rodochroa), is a finch in the family Fringillidae. The male is a bright raspberry pink with a deep pink belly and maroon crown, along with a “browed” facial pattern and faint streaking on the back.

The orange-breasted fruiteater (Pipreola jucunda)

The orange-breasted fruiteater (Pipreola jucunda), is a species of bird in the Cotingidae family. The male of this species has a glossy black head and green upperparts. His throat and upper breast area are a fiery orange, with his belly being yellow with green mottling along the sides.

The purplish-mantled tanager (Iridosornis porphyrocephalus)

The purplish-mantled tanager (Iridosornis porphyrocephalus), is a species of bird in the Thraupidae family. Up to 15 cm in length, this bird is mainly purplish-blue, especially on the head, reflecting almost greenish tones in the sunlight. The throat is a standout bright yellow contrasting beautifully against the rest of the body.

The versicolored barbet (Eubucco versicolor)

The versicolored barbet (Eubucco versicolor), is a very colorful species of bird in the Capitonidae family, the New World barbets. A multicolored bird with, like all barbets, a very sturdy bill. Subspecies of this bird differ in their appearance, however, all males have a red face and crown with green to blue-green upperparts.

The violaceous euphonia (Euphonia violacea)

The violaceous euphonia (Euphonia violacea), is a small passerine bird in the true finch family. Only 4.5 inches in length and weighing a paltry 0,5 oz, the male is a glossy blue-black color above with his forehead and lower plumage a deep golden yellow.
