The scarlet-backed flowerpecker (Dicaeum cruentatum), is a species of passerine bird in the flowerpecker Dicaeidae family. Only 9 cm (3.5 in) long this bird weighs only 7 to 8 grams (0.25 to 0.28 oz).

The Great Hornbill

The Great Hornbill (buceros bicorhis) is also known as the great Indian hornbill, concave-casqued hornbill, or great pied hornbill. It can be found in Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent and is the largest member of the hornbill family.

The rufous-headed tanager (Hemithraupis ruficapilla) is a bird with olive-green upperparts and a yellow rump. The head is rufous colored fading to cinnamon on the breast. There are splashes of yellow behind the ear coverts. His underparts are greyish with a yellow center of the belly.

The Secretary bird (Sagittarius serpentarius) is a distinctive bird, to say the least, combining tall, elegant, long legs with an eagle-like body. On its head are quill-like plumes, that look like an Indian headdress, red facial skin, plumage on the upperparts, and lesser median wing coverts which are blue-gray.

A mainly black and white bird, with a large yellow wing patch, white facial tufts, and a matching white iris. There is also a small white ear patch and yellow margins in the tail.

The rainbow bee-eater (Merops ornatus) measures 7 to 8 inches in length which includes those elongated tail feathers. The upperback area and wings are green, with the lower back and rump a bright blue.

The northern carmine bee-eater (Merops nubicus or M. n. nubicus), is an African near passerine bird in the Meropidae family of bee-eaters. Characterized by their strikingly colorful plumage this bird is mainly carmine in color, except for a green-blue head, throat, and distinctive black mask.

The royal flycatchers are a genus, Onychorhynchus, of passerine birds in the Tityridae family. These birds measure between 16.5 – 18 cm (6.5-7) in length. The male’s crest is red, with plumage above being brown with small buffy spots on his wing coverts. The rump and tail are dull yellowish-brown in color.

The hooded warbler

The hooded warbler (Setophaga citrina), is a New World warbler. A small bird measuring 5.1 inches in length, weighing 0.32-0.42 oz. Having a plain olive/green-brown back, and yellow underparts, males finish off their look with distinctive black hoods which surround their yellow faces.

The scarlet-bellied mountain tanager

The scarlet-bellied mountain tanager (Anisognathus igniventris), is a species of bird in the Thraupidae family. A very good-looking bird with a dark body making his bright scarlet belly and ear patch stand out in an almost startling way. The rump is a bright blue, as are two small patches of blue on each shoulder.

The greater sage-grouse

The greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus), also known as the sagehen, is a mottle gray-brown bird with a black belly. Males have a black head and throat as well as a white ruff that, during displays surround a pair of inflatable, yellow air sacs that make a sound when thrust forward, producing unique liquid popping noises.

The common green magpie

The common green magpie (Cissa chinensis), is a member of the crow family. Not surprisingly, this species of Magpie got its name from its mainly vivid green color. However, this is not always the case as some of these birds end up becoming a shade of blue! A slightly lighter color on the belly there is a thick black stripe from the bird’s bill to the nape of the neck.

The multicolored tanager (Chlorochrysa nitidissima), is a species of bird in the Thraupidae family. Males have a yellow crown, face, and throat, chestnut, and black ear coverts, a bright green nape, and wings. He has a blue rump, breast, and belly, along with a black patch in the center of his belly.

The Baltimore oriole

The Baltimore oriole (Icterus galbula), is a bird that received its name from the resemblance of the male’s colors to those on the coat-of-arms of Lord Baltimore. The male is orange on the belly, shoulder patch, and rump. 

The blue waxbill

The blue waxbill (Uraeginthus angolensis), is also known as the southern blue waxbill, Blue-breasted waxbill, or southern cordon-bleu. The male has powder blue cheeks, throat, breast, and flanks.

The beryl-spangled tanager

The beryl-spangled tanager (Tangara nigroviridis), is a small songbird of the northern Andes. An unmistakable bird due to its entire body being boldly spotted with bright blue and green gems which contrast nicely with its black mask and back, giving its plumage a brightly spangled turquoise appearance.

The scaled fruiteater (Ampelioides tschudii), is a species of bird in the Cotingidae family. The only member of the Ampelioides genus, this bird measures 19 cm in length. A plump bird with a robust bill and short tail, the male has a black head, loruns, and an off-white “mustache” like band.
